I received this in an uncleaned lot for $3.50 and have just pulled it from the olive oil after a soak of about a week. This is the first I've seen this bust and reverse before, and after going from A-Z through the Roman Imperial listing on wildwinds, I believe it is a Victorinus, RIC 114 (also like Cunetio 2539).

When I first saw the coin, I thought it was Postumus, so if anyone can confirm that it is indeed Victorinus, I would be grateful. Thanks for your help. I try attribute these 'on my own,' but without much experience I second guess a lot of what I think I see.

Victorinus AE
19 mm/ 2.2 g
Obv would read IMP C VICTORINVS PF AVG, of which perhaps the "VG" is evident
Rev would read INVICTUS, which The "INV" and "S" are evident, with the star below the arm in the left field
RIC 114
Cologne?

Thanks. I just haven't got an idea yet of what other matches might be out there, so more experienced eyes are invaluable.

Would have saved myself time had I started from Z and gone backwards in the alphabet.

Great work!
I think heīs victorinus too...
You donīt need to "...start from Z and gone backwards in the alphabet".
This must be a "succesive aproaches" metod.
1.- You think that this coin is an antoninianus seeing his radiate crown.
2.- so initially you must disregard the others emperors, centering your effords in third century emperors.
3.- with all this in mind, you must use your "bust gallery" to center your attention on bearbed emperors of that period.
4.- and so on...

For this epoch, if all fails think in Gallienus or claudius II!
