These two auctions are for 1864 Large motto 2 Cents
the first calls it a small motto the second implies it by using sm in the title.
I have asked questions of both and both are adamant that their coins are small motto varieties I hope no one gets stung to badly.

For the first one, I could see someone bidding more for it if they didn't read the description of they come upon the auction towards the end and bid because it's going for a lot less than a small motto should bring. They should change the title of their auction.

I think what was trying to be said above is the description reads "1864 Two Cent Piece Early US Coin Lg. Motto" but the title reads "1864 Two Cent Piece Early US Coin Sm. Motto" so if someone just reads the title and doesn't read the description (like in the last few seconds of bidding) they could get took on the first link

Both sellers replied to my question saying that yes the coin is a small motto variety.
The one with the high start price I think is fairly safe as the start asking price is way over the value for what a real small motto would be in that condition.
The one with the SM in the title is in my opinion trying to pull a fast one.
My first question asked what the 'sm' in the title meant. The reply was "Small" I then pointed out it was a large motto in the picture. The reply was "It looks like a small to me. The coin pictured is the one you will get." I suspect they know its a large motto and even the pic title says lg motto. The price is already above what I would pay for a large motto in that grade. I suspect some one will get stung on this one its just a question of how badly.

I emailed them both too. The second one ended his early due to "an error in the listing". I guess the second report made him look closer.

Well some one just paid $50 for a $12 coin they are either going to be very happy and ignorant of their mistake or very unhappy and wise to their mistake.
I tried as did bobby131313. The seller even revised their auction and placed a note at the bottom.

wow that cockdiesel2 guy on ebay started at $20.20 and went in increments all the way to the high bidders maximum bid (he knew his maximum bid was 50.00 because he bid 50.00 and got the response he had been outbid but the high bid was still 50.00). When I see that I think of some sort of shill, even though there is nothing to back my theory up, it just looks way too convenient
