Can't imagine anything you find today would be like what you found 40 years ago.

Hi Bob, you come from my era...you may be surprised to know that I've found more silver these days than I did back in 1980. Especially now, collections are being dumped because of low silver prices, just like after the crash back in '80-'82. Locally they aren't paying much at all for silver coin and folks are dumping.

Thanks for the welcome messages. Kid - Yeah, I seem to recall getting about 10% wheat and 5% silver in the early 70's. Dirt - I don't understand why someone would swap a roll of silver quarters for a $10 bill instead of what a coin dealer would give them. Or are the dealers giving $10 too? 2nd hunt: $10 quarters - nothing $10 dimes - nothing $10 nickels - 200 2014P need to pay more attention. $5 pennies - 1946, 1947D, 1953D, 1956D Working on getting the nerve to ask someone to order something for me.

Bob, they aren't paying much for silver coin locally where I'm at, folks get disappointed and just spend the collection (they aren't aware of other selling avenues).
Depending upon your bankroll, what I do is have the banks save their customer rolls for me, and I buy between $1k - $3k per month that way. The best and most cost and time-saving way to pile up the silver is to search volumes of coin at a time.

Welcome to the site Uncle Bob. I got into CRH about 4 months ago and have really enjoyed it. Nothing really rare so far but I mainly just focus on pennies. I recently branched out to getting nickels as well. Good luck with the hunting!
