Congratulations ... well found indeed!
The verdigris is eating away ... perhaps time for some Verdi-Care?

You can get it from Wizard Coin Supply. It will save that coin from corrosion.
I think somebody form CCF developed it....can't remember....argh!

Yes, please please please save the penny. In this situation Verdi-care IS the answer. What are you currently thinking?

AT - using Verdi-care will help to stop the verdigris from eating away at your coin. It will not reverse the damage that's already taken place, but if caught early enough, you can do that coin justice.
Conserving a coin is not the same as cleaning a coin. As you probably guessed, cleaning is a no-no. But there are things that you can do to improve the coin's chances going forward. Read up on coin conservation here and on the web. It'll do a better treatment of the topic than I've done here.
Terrific find. The picture is a little blurry, but I think I can make out some diamonds on the head-dress ribbon. Indeed, it is quite the circulation survivor!! Congratulations on the find!

In the OP's case I can see why it would be worth saving with Verdi-care but I'm not so sure about anything else. I have a whole bag of "verdigris" LWCs and Canadian pennies I didn't know what to do with. I typically just throw green pennies back into circulation. Wonder if it would be worth trying to save my green LWCs then with the Verdi-care? Verdigris is caused by moisture on the coin right?

Yes I am so shocked I found this roll hunting! @Normic67, I'm puzzled at what you mean by "what am I currently thinking" Are you referring to am I going to sell this coin? I have no clue if this is even of any value or just another $1.00 penny, but It is nice.

I'm not sure, I have only currently been keep LWC as they are my favorite, not due to value, just love them. I just recently expanded to errors and such. I ordered Verdi-care and will apply it to the coin when it arrives. I have done research but didn't find much. I don't really know, It is beautiful. I imagine it will probably be sold, for the right price, but that depends on the price really. I have not really sold anything, since I love to look at my coins, but I always told myself that if I found a coin of value, and the price is right, I would part with it.
