Diamond Jubilee Coin In Origional Case ?

I hope someone will be able to give me some information about this coin. I assume it is not rare as there were likely many struck to celebrate such an occasion. The coin is in what I assume is it's original case. No picture of the reverse because the coin fits very tightly in the case, wouldn't pop out and I didn't want to force it.

I was going to post to the UK coin section until I noticed P.W.Wells and Co, Toronto on the shoulder of the portrait. Was this a Canadian medal struck to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria?

I would think this is a medal for sure. You may have more luck in that forum. That's about all I really know. Have you searched p.w. wells and co? That may turn up something too.

I tried searching it for him and nothing much came up. I spent a bit more time on Google and almost thought I got somewhere going through an image search, but then I realized that the image I found went back to this thread and wasn't someone else with the same thing.

Looks more like 'PW Ellis & Co'. the jewelery co. from Toronto area long time ago.
Here's another one the same as yours for $65 with credits...you have the case though so extra

There was an interesting article or website thread(s) on these 1897 medals in either the Canadian Coin News or the CNJ about a year ago. There were, evidently, a good number of different medals made by various entities.
