All I've really found was this Cud pictured below. Still searching though! Is there any premium to it? Edited by brefos77 11/28/2007 11:31 am

as far as I know Ken Potter (aka koinpro) doesn't frequent this forum. As far as a Cud worth a premium I would have to say there is a interest in Cuds so would have to think it would have some kind of premium but I am not sure how much since I don't collect errors

Thanks Bryan. I might just put it on e-bay and see what it gets anyway.

Dont do anything until you can post a nice clear, close up picture of the date. The pic is dark but I see something worth looking at. maybe grooves indicative of a doubled die variety on the lower right of the 9 and the 3.
Dont count any chickens until the eggs are scrambled:-) but lets see a good shot of the date first.
Thanks, Bill

You have a clash as well by the way. See the column outline to the left of the neck as well as the memorial step line above. lets see the reverse. here is one I posted a while back. Image: 78-D2.jpg35.82 KB

also can see the memorial roof lines just left of the date. the Cud and clash are probably connected with one another at the strike.

As noted you can see evidence of the die clash. It is NOT a Doubled Die though. It must have been the lighting and the angle of the first pic that made the digits look a little thick. Thanks for the Great Second Picture!

OK, Bonham. Here's 2 pics of the reverse: (Just noticed the die crack, too!)

A few clash lines can be seen on obverse and reverse. The die cracks on the reverse are plenty along with the Obverse die clash. If the coin was BU it would have been a nice one to see. But should still bring a premium to Cud collectors. The last S must have been where the rim Cud was on the strike from the obverse.

The three C's: Cud-Clash-Crack Pretty good. I bet that die collar gave out pretty quick after. would of loved to see the next couple dozen coins after that. i have seen many of those cracks before. often at both ends of the memorial roof/2nd level at once. think I will go back and check out the obverses of those coins that I have a little closer.
