Yes, it is a 10 ouncer. How many of them are still in Australia is an interesting question bearing in mind that only 3,000 was minted for world wide collectors. Prior to this one, the last time one came up for auction was more than 14 months ago. I have tried buying it direct from dealers here for quite sometime, but none of the established ones have them.

Lim Last night I attended a meeting of the South Florida Asutralia/New Zealand social club and one of the members who is not a coin collector had one of these beautiful coins. It had been given him as a pressy from the consulate. he has it framed and hanging on his wall.
Now both of you have made me drool.
P.S. how about those SWANS! Go Sydney!

Yikes !!! No wonder some issues are so hard to obtain when it is adorning the walls of non collectors. Unless it is very well framed, the environment will soon destroy the coin.... As for the Swans..good on them and commiserations to the Eagles. Overall, another good year for the AFL. Just out of interest, does anyone play this game in the US

Don't know about the game but do want that coin hanging on my wall!!! Free storage in Indiana!!! I bought one of the huge silver coins commemorating your first gold piece. And I thought that was BIG? Always got my eye on unique offerings but things seem slow this year! Must be the darn weather!

Now that would make a fine gift! And I really do like the mintage as low issues tend to hold their value (lol)! It would be nice if the good ole U.S. would do something DIFFERENT once in a while. We would like to see another 2 cent piece or $3 or $4 gold but it will never happen. Does look like we will get 24k pure gold Buffalo nickel reproductions in 1/10 oz., 1/4 oz., 1/2 oz and full ounce in 2006 on a one year deal. Got to start saving my pennies for those!!!
