got handfuls of stamps here dating 1950's (Philippine Stamps) and I am planning to sell it, since I am no enthusiast of it I really have no idea how to price em...

anyone knew a stamp community so that I could ask questions?

or a site where I can at least learn some?

thank you very much.

We can answer the basic questions you have. Scott's standard catalogs are a good source of information and are available in the reference section of most libraries in the US. For the tough ones, the International Philippine Philatelic Society is a group of advanced collectors of Philippine stamps. I am sure they can answer any highly specialized questions you have. Their site has an interesting research page on Philippine stamps.

You can post them here, but take a look at completed auctions on eBay--you'll get some idea to compare yours to. Generally post-war stamps seem to have a smaller and less dedicated following than Spanish/US/Japanese Occupation Philippines.

You can try this site...

Go to the MY CATALOUGE section to find stamp numbers and pricing, there is also a forum there.

Are they Mint or canceled?

It make a difference

I had a lot of stamps Mint they of course were Australian stamps

I sold them at face vale to an Australian to use for postage- I took a loss on them as I sold them at face value- but in the end I won because instead of taking the money for them I took collector coins which have since gone up in value so in the end I made out well on this deal.

No, but we've been kicking around the idea of making one. I'm thinking that we would get a huge jump start of members from here.

Sorry I'm late posting to this thread; I had to wait until my brother got back from his holidays to ask him.

He's a stamp guy, and lurks on the following site:
http://www.stampboards.com/

It's the best stamp forum he's found to date.

Oh my! Well what do you know?

There is a thriving stamp community right next door!

Just click the link "Go to the Stamp Forum" located at the top of every page (in the center, just below the google ad banner)!
