I like the centennial medal and mackerel dime/ hare nickel. I have a little centennial collection on the side. You fill any holes with your haul?

Some nice silver there! The British wartime silver coins look as if they are in great condition!

Harmonica , I was able to fill in 5 holes in my dollar slots and the 1959 dollar is my birth year and so that was a real treat . I was surprised at how much larger that dollar was in size compared to the others . NumisRob , the war time coins I find interesting is the German coins the one with the swastika is most interesting and the 1851 5 Francs also . To think my mother had these all this time just sitting there to be discovered again amazing how things come about .

You should keep track of the coins that were your dads for sentimental reasons,IMHO. John1

It sure would have gotten dusty in there if it had happened to me. Thanks for sharing. I too would keep them separate.

Please help a new guy with the larger 1959 dollar. What's the story behind that?

The 1959 Silver Dollar is not larger. That is the standard size (36.06mm) for all silver dollars issued between 1935 and 1967. When they switched to the nickel dollars issued from 1968 to 1986, they reduced the size (32.13mm) to help get better striking on the hard nickel blanks.
