1) Mechanical Doubling
2) Unknown, looks post mint
3) Looks like a RPM 1940S-1MM-001
4) Looks mechanical.

Overall, you may want to use some acetone and a light brush to clean up some of that gunk.

Also, #3 could be 1940S-1DO-001. Check the motto and Liberty for doubling

I have used the acetone brush technique a few times and it works great, especially for RPM's and DDO's. I use my 3 year olds old toothbrush, it is nice and soft and does not leave a mark. I soak the cent for awhile, sometimes a day or so.

Goo-gone is far easier to obtain and far cheaper...and it works great.

#1 and #4 are both Machine Doubling...it's NOT called "mechanical" doubling.

#2 is a die crack that probably resulted in a Cud.

#3 is an RPM and does appear to be 1940S-1MM-001. If so, it is definitely also a doubled die. The two are inseparable - they are the same die and had the same doubling from the first moment the die entered service.
