Got this in a cull lot. I did a 1200 dpi scan to see if that was a 5 on the coin. Do you see it? I have seen things on coins using this pic resolution. Click the coin to make it bigger.

Yeh, got something similar in a dollar bin at a show. Well paid similar in the lot, some better than others.

I get them in cull lots. Not all of them are dateless. Got a G 1917 Walker in one lot. My 1857 FE cent in my Whitman book was also from the same lot. The rest are mostly sold. I have a 1859 IHC with whole. I think I may wear it like a Civil War soldier who wore it for luck or in case they got lost and needed a meal. I heard this on "Supernatural".

Rub your finger across the "oily" part of your nose. Then lightly rub your finger across the date on the coin. Sometimes this works because it highlights the raised details on the coin, created a contract between details and background.
