Found this 1989 D nickel last night. I'm thinking it's my second partial collar error? I wish it was less circulated, but I'm still happy with it : )

The pictures came out a little blurry, but what has me interested is the splitting of the rim next to "E PLU" in "E PLURIBUS."

To me it doesn't look like a partial collar. The edge of the coin looks messed with. On a partial collar the devices should look normal over those areas, not flattened.

Maybe it's not a partial collar error, but something doesn't sit right with me to think this is PMD. I guess since I can't reason how it would be a mint error vs. how someone can damage the coin this way

It kinda looks like someone cut it with a torch. Very odd indeed.
