Just picked this gem up for my MS Lincoln album. Although this one is going to stay in the slab. Very cool piece. Coin is about 90% red with a nice Obverse lamination on it!

I have to work on my photo skills. I have been reading in the "photography" section but these pictures are a little better. They show the coins color better

Nice acquisition! So how many do you have left to complete the set?

I have the first two pages with a bunch. 1910-1930ish...1931-date are complete. There will be a couple that will be tough(22plain,14-D etc. Just started it a couple of months ago,I'm also putting together a US gold type album and that takes away from this album. I'm in no rush though. Rather wait and find the right "pieces".

Sometimes laminations on a coin can detract from it's value.
I had a reasonably scarce Autralian florin in MS65 with an ugly lamination, and I was able to buy it for a third of it's cost comparative to it being perfectly struck coin.

I'm with Dave on this one. Its a very auttle lamination. I liked it because kt wasn't the same SVDB. Gives it a little more character. I paid 1800 for it so I thought it was a fair deal.

I thought lamination errors are details slabs. Is that just pcgs?

PCGS Details laminations which they worry will detach and screw up the slab, not all of them. In the real world, laminations are not cause for Details grades. It's just as much the Mint's doing as die doubling.

Very nice! I would crack it and put it in the album. Then again, I would have bought something in a much lower circulated grade, so it is probably best that you just leave that one where it is.

Cool coin!
These key dates with lamination issues usually sell at a discount as most collectors want "perfection" in their keys.

I had a couple I was looking at..I bought this one because of the lamination. I thought it was something else ,as a added bonus. I feel privileged to even be able to own a piece of history and a key date coin as well. This coin fits what I am doing perfectly. I am contemplating cracking it out though. I do like when all the penny holes are filled up

I would have bought that over a non-lam instantly for my set if there was a "detraction of value". :-)
