This book contains one of Addison's lesser works - Dialogues upon the Usefulness of Ancient Medals. It includes a large number of prints of the coins discussed (though some of these prints are conspicuously missing - either the printers lost the plates (this copy being printed a long time after Addison's death) or they couldnt find an example).

Heres a few examples. The coins go from Augustus up to the Constantinians from what ive seen.

This edition is 1773, but the plates are identical to those used in a copy of 1736, so I guess they were in the first edition.

Athalbert, there are coins from his time represented, ill get some pictures. And yes, it is a mistake - they've also turned the radiate crown into a big hairdo.

Be careful Ben!
"Ancient book collecting fever" is much more expensive than "Ancient coin collecting fever", but a mix between this two diseases ("Ancient coins book collecting fever") is always LETHAL for your pocket!

Athal - its actually a lot cheaper than you'd expect. This cost £13. I plan to sell it after Ive read it, too, hopefully ill break even. Cheaper than buying any of the coins depicted.

Here are the prints listed as reverses of Constantine:
