I bought The White Deer - Portrait from SilverTowne for $44.95 U.S.
The capsule on both side has what looks like glue marks.
The coin has a small gouge near the 2014.
Has anyone else ordered from SilverTowne, and received coins with problems?

I have never ordered from them,"but" some of these coin companies/dealers, send their best coins to get graded so what you may get with these "deals" are coins that were not worth sending to the grading companies so there very well maybe small defects etc in them or not, just depends on how many they looked over if indeed they were going to send some for grading.
If they are selling the slabbed versions of the coin as well as the discounted one then its a fair bet to say this is what they are doing.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with NOrthern.
Dealers are known for sending the best coins FIRST to get slabbed and then the rejects OR the ones that they determine are not worth grading, ending being in the regular sale price.
If you arent happy with the coin, send it back.
I have bought from Silvertowne and have bought non slabbed coins and HAVE been satisfied and have had good experiences.

I have bought from Silvertowne and so far have not had any problems nor received any sub-standard condition coins.

well they have 80 of the 2014 Canada Silver White-Tailed Deer Portrait 1oz PR69 DCAM FS PCGS Deer Label slabbed in stock,$48 us. I didn't check the other 70s and 69s slabbed for amounts. But appears to be an over abundance of them.
I guess these are just not very popular.

Every coin I purchased from them have been flawless and will buy from them again and again, you cant beat the price.
Next will be 2015 Gold 'Largemouth Bass - Sportfish' Proof $200 Gold Coin 1oz for ( $1,499.95 I hope) just like the 2014 Canada Gold White-Tailed Deer Quietly Exploring 1oz gold coin I purchased from silvertown .

I have ordered from Silvertowne and have never had any issue with the quality of the coins that were delivered or their overall service.
Also, I have ordered "raw" coins and have received coins that were without blemish or mark - they easily would have graded MS/PF-69 and possibly higher. The coins have certainly not been "rejects."
I would contact them about the issues with your coin and arrange for it to be replaced.

Quote: I bought Hera Silver Coins, Star Trek Coins & 5oz Bald Eagle Silver Coin from Silvertowne Very liked your description of Star Trek set on the other forum. It was very correct. From all the "dust collecting" Star Trek toys, that I saw on ebay, I would chose "the chess" or metallic look space ship figurines.

+1.
Great prices, fast (and free) shipping, very professionals in their communications and outstanding coins without any apparent defects.

A peculiar thing happened to my order from Silvertowne. It was shipped on April 1st complete with UPS tracking number. It arrived yesterday via Canada Post. I thought this weird that UPS USA doesn't hand it off to UPS Canada - instead uses the cheaper Canada Post for final delivery.

Same sort of thing happened on my Silvertowne order. Their system generated a UPS shipping confirmation but it actually was sent via USPS/Canada Post.
If I recall correctly, the UPS tracking number was bogus and didn't actually register on ups.com. Of course I was happy with that because no doubt UPS would have added brokerage fees.

Yep, same here. I received the message with a UPS tracking number, but the coin arrived by Canada Post. I was also happy with this because I avoided the brokerage fees.

my ups tracking number was legit. Eventually it sent me an email indicating 'the package has been delivered'. I agree about the brokerage fees. Usually, when I receive packages UPS shipped they have brokerage fees due. This time, with Canada Post involved, no such request.
