Welcome to Coin Community, B-ri-Time. Ain't a bad start to your collection, at least as far as I'm concerned.
This one is slightly circulated; I'm calling it about AU50-53. Morgan dollars are collected by variety; these varieties are called VAMs which is an acronym for Leroy Van Allen and A. George Mallis who first cooperated to begin codifying them. Your coin is VAM-1P (for each year and mint mark, VAMs start at VAM-1 and proceed from there). It's characterized by the break you see between the tops of the E and R in AMERICA. This is not a variety which adds value to the coin - of the 5000 or so Morgan VAMs already identified (with many more to go) probably 10% or fewer are actually rare enough to add value, and many of them only in higher grades than this.
