I saw some PCGS Lincoln gold dollars for sale SP 67. I have some that are PF 70s. Are SPs worth the extra premium?

That's strictly your call.

Do they fit into your concept of YOUR collection?
How will their purchase affect getting other coin for your collection?

As far as I know they didn't make any specimen strikes of the Lincoln dollar. Could those be satin finish pieces out of the mint sets?

As Condor posted I am thinking you have satin coins.

It looks like PCGS uses the SP XX for satin coins.

Some collectors like Satin coins ... Some want business strikes.
Satin coins have a lower mintage, because they only come in
Mint sets. And pretty much all satin coins are of higher grade
Over business strike. So high grades spare common with satin coins.

Some of the price guides are starting to show higher prices for
Satin coins.

The satin finish coins were better-handled than Business Strikes, but not as well-done as Proofs. For my money, I can't see a premium (indeed, I'd expect them to be more common in high grade than Business Strikes), but everyone's tolerance differs.

I agree, those would have to be the satin finish. 2010 was the last year for it.

To the contrary, I think that it's likely more difficult to find a MS67 business strike than a SP67 satin.

I agree. The SP were minted to be high grade, the circulation strikes were not.

Just to be clear ...

IMO ... A MS67 would be worth more than a SP67

Because a MS67, business strike would be much harder to find.

Where a SP67 would be common. I think it is more common to
have SP68 and SP69 grades for satin coins.

Satin coins are just lower mintage.

I agree. They are lower mintage, but not so low as to affect the pricing. The reason being that fewer care to differentiate them from the business strikes. Similar with how coins with much lower mintages than the 1909-S VDB will sell for a lot less than the 1909-S VDB.
