Hello can anyone help me here,i have as handed down from a family member back in the 70's the above 1752 Ducat which is bright gold in colour as I was the day I was given it,it is not tarnished or faded it shines brightly as if it were an uncirculated coin.I am conscious that the Readers Digest issued lots of fakes possibly in the 80's,but I got this in the early 70's and possibly the late 60's,i cannot remember exactly.Any help will be helpful.

It would help ALOT if you could crop the images to as much of the coin itself and get close ups.

That way the people here could better make a determination.

Enjoy and See you in the forums!

Englander, to CCf.
As mentioned, it would help to crop your pictures to give us a better look.
Looks like a nice Ducat.

By far the easiest way to confirm for yourself whether it is solid gold or not is to weigh it. Readers Digest did not make their fakes out of gold-plated tungsten and gold is more than double the density of any other yellowish metal, so unless the fakes are excessively thick, they will be much lighter than the regulation weight. Genuine ducats should weigh 3.49 grams. I own two Readers Digest copies; they weigh 2.27 and 2.44 grams.

That being said, I'd be suspicious of yours. You say it's "not tarnished" but I see two dark streaks slashing across the emperor's neck and chest. That's not only tarnish (which I wouldn't expect to see on a real gold coin) but it's just the sort of damage pattern I'd expect to see on an RD coin that had been glued to a piece of cardboard.
