Hello everyone
ok, let's cut to the chase... it took me for ever to figure this out, so I can only imagine your frustration. Do know that the following steps will be a process that requires lots of patience, mostly with step one.... the rest is cake

1- take a super Clear picture of your coin. The closer you can get to the coin the better. If taken to far away, you would then need to crop it making zoom in blurry. So key word for step one is a "CLEAR CLOSE UP"
2- edit your image using only: Crop, Brighter, Darker, or -/+ contrast, then save.
3- exit picture editor. Open coin community page, choose a category where you will be posting your coin, choose new topic, go down to where it says "Image Optimizer" and select. This will take you out of the current page (it's OK you will be able to go back. When image optimizer opens you will see 2 large nickels. One on the left is the one that should be save.. the one on the right is the original. Notice the size of the original picture.... that's how the pictures should look like when you are done with step 2 (you can skip step 2 if your picture looks like that in step 1). What the image optimizer does, is compress your picture to smaller pixels so you can uploaded. So, at the top of the left nickel are 2 options to chose image and upload. First choose picture from your library (sometime it will take you straight to your image library and sometimes to files. When taken to files, just search for saved images), then upload. If you followed step 1 and 2 then after upload, when you see your image appear... touch image on the left and stay pressed til option to save picture shows up. Save your image. Now you are ready to upload image to coin community!
NOTE: avoid using image optimizer to edit or crop your image, crop and edit your picture before step 3 otherwise it will get really complicated. You can either use your phone's editing option or like in my case I downloaded an editing application from app store. When you edit your picture avoid using and other option other then cropping to avoid taking away the original look of your coin. Coin only needs to be a clear close up. If you had to take the picture a little far to have a clear image.. that's OK, just crop and save.
When you are done with step 3, go back to category of choice, choose new topic, and follow the steps
title, then a brief description of the coin, and finally. .. upload your image!!
Well, hope this helps... if you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to my knowledge to answer your questions.
ENJOY
