Here are the coins (tokens) that got me started in numismatics. The Victory Sparkler and Specialty Company/ Good Luck Token. Given to me by my grandfather when I was about ten years old....way back in 1970. Not particularly PC...but I was fascinated! Soon after, I found the 'St. George' Safe-travel medal when I was playing baseball in a neighbor's backyard. The coin kicked up from the dirt as I slid into second base. Ironically enough...I was SAFE! So this is how it started for me. How did your Coin Collecting Journey begin?

I started collecting the State Quarters in 1999. I collected modern coins as well as US classic coins.

I have a hodgepodge collection the oldest coin I have is a 1723 Rosa Americana colonial coin. I tend to drift among the various series though I'm trying to focus on completing a few sets.

On the token scene I have an assortment of sales tax tokens and transportation tokens. These were given to me by a friend.

I began saving coins from circulation in 1967 with Canada's Centennial coins. At 9 years old I didn't have much income so things went rather slow for the first few years.

When I began working in the early 70's I knew to start keeping silver coins from my change and anything really old (pre 1950's) but I still didn't know anything about rarities or to start keeping the best looking recent issues yet.

In 1989 I quit drinking and needed a hobby to occupy myself. Since I was already a quasi coin collector it seemed logical to just dive deeper into the hobby.
