I really hope this shows correctly in the forum.

Box #2 will be next month. Just found out about this place this month and had enough to get a box, and recycling it with those I didn't keep by spending them for groceries. Lots of confused cashiers thinking I am handing them a roll of quarters, and other that didn't even know how to count a HALF dollar, and one that didn't even know that a half was even legal money anymore. :(

Think this was a Brinks box, for any interested, it is brown and has $500 HALVES on the sides, and all the other boxes from this back (cents, nickles, dimes, quarters) were Brinks boxes, but they were plastic wrapped, while these were paper wrapped in shotgun machine rolls.

Halves are fun, and thanks to everyone here that I found out about boxes of coins!

@happyjack it really doesn't matter what works for me in my area might not work for you. You will just have to search and figure out what works best for you.

I am on the brink of getting my first brinks boxes in 9 months 1 tomorrow and 2 on thursday.

@Superhal,

NIFC is short for "Not Intended For Circulation." Pretty much all half dollars from 2002 to present are NIFCs. Most people do not keep the 2001 halves seeing they were an extremely high production number and seeing they are so easily found.

So nothing special, just 2002 to now have lower mintages? You guys keeping them hoping they will go up? Or are they over face already?

only about 2 to 3 million of each made. being a circulation coin type, and still legal money, I keep them to continue my circulating set. and it is a rarity. being low mintage, it might go up in value. don't really collect for value myself, just collect what I can get for face value.

Picked up my first brinks box in a long time today. I am not sure if anyone else brinks boxes look like this.

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

The box was a skunk.

But I picked up 2 Loomis boxes from a different bank

Finally my first walker its a 42 D It Took like 40 boxes.

The 2 Loomis boxes also had 7 40%
