Quote: Went through 2 boxes last night, here are my gleanings: 1 proof, some NIFC's got 2-2009's a P and a D, 1-210 and a 2012 plus a few earlier ones. One holed half, and one gold toned, Nice finds, both of you.

I throw the holed ones back, I pulled 5 out of one box, is there a market for them? I don't think so but I have never checked.

Depends on the coin I got a twofer finding this one: holed and counterstamped. It makes a nice key ring and I always have it with me in case I have to explain silver coins to anyone I run into who asks.

Good idea for holed coins, that's pretty cool!

That IS a cool idea for a key ring. Like the foreign coins, too.
I can't tell you how many foreign coins I've gotten from the bank reject trays. My kid takes the funky looking ones. I've actually given lots of Canadian coins to a friend from Canada who goes home once or twice a year. Didn't have time to pick up my halves box this week. Gives me more to look forward to next week!

I usually throw mine back, but anything silver, holed, counter-stamped, scratched, stickered, colored, stepped on, whatever, I would keep. Naturally.

I also keep all counterstamped, stickered, engraved, and unusually colored or surfaced halves. I may have to thin that collection out as I am out of space in my 2 8 page each Dansco albums I use for them.

Last several banks haven't had any halves until today, when one of two banks had $5 loose. 1 1967.

5 boxes.
6 40%ers, some NIFC, a stickered coin, and a proof.
Got shut down for the first time today.
BMO bank by work told me they wouldn't take my change for free anymore. A month or 2 at work we got a letter that they were going to start charging business customers tons of fees to get cash and coin and to process checks cash and coin. I asked at my pickup BMO bank by my house and the head teller said yes they were implementing that policy. I will have to see on Friday if it is not being enforced across the board or if this particular branch just wanted me to leave.
Unfortunately since I have to work 6 days a week 3 out of 4 weeks a month I need this dump bank to get rid of my Friday pickup so I have enough for my pickup down the block from them on Mondays.
I had been planning on cutting back to $2K 3 times a week instead of $3K because I can dump $2K in one stop on my way home instead of having to break it up into 2 stops.
