Good evening everyone, finished my last four boxes and pulled 3, 90%ers and 17, 40%ers, and 4, proofs, as you can see the 91 proof is in the best shape. One of the 66's looked almost like a proof and it threw me for a second, I know the mint didn't make proofs from 65-67 so I thought maybe it was a 66 SMS. Taking a closer look it appears to be polished. Anyway, also pulled a couple of NIFC and counter stamped coins. Remember to enjoy the Hunt!

Hey Jack, are those quarter sized halves? It's hard to tell from the pics, they look like regular sized half dollar planchets. Were these bank box pulled?

Very nice! Quote: ...are those quarter sized halves? It's hard to tell from the pics, they look like regular sized half dollar planchets. Half Dollar sized planchets cut from quarter stock (thinner than half dollar stock). Their weight (8.79 grams) is the key here. If they were a quarter planchet struck with half dollar dies, they would weigh the same as a quarter (5.67 grams). Also, the half dollar collar would allow a quarter planchet to spread, becoming bigger than a quarter, but still smaller than a half dollar.

Well I went to withdraw some cash from the bank today, not intending to buy any coins, but apparently I'm an official coin roll hunter now. After I got my cash, the other teller asks me if I want any halves today. I guess they know me now =) But she's very nice and is more than happy to get me the coins I need, so I figured that was as good a time as any to ask for a box of halves. She told me they only had $310 on hand, but could order me boxes if I wanted them! So I came away with $310 in rolls. She originally told me $300, but then said there was another roll that wasn't machine wrapped that a customer brought in. I was thinking to myself, one customer roll is better than a box of machine rolls much of the time! Great day at the bank overall, and the results were just as good!
The customer wrapped roll got me 2 40% JFKs (A 67 & 68) The 30 machine wrapped rolls got me another 5 40%s and a 1964 90% JFK!
Total of 7 40%ers and 1 90%er.
Will definitely be ordering up a couple boxes soon!

Nice guys. I think there's the annual uptick in silver from people turning it in for Xmas and not knowing what they have.

While many know of the 1964 cutoff many don't seem to realize there were still 40percent issued. Also, the proofs since 1992 were and are issued. Has anyone found any silver in that category? Just curious.
