bishftl Thanks for the help with the 1976 S I think it is a 40%.

The Franklin Mint was allowed to paint over the face of half dollars with an image of one of Elvis's album covers.

I heard there is approximately 30 coins to the set.
The 1 I found is a 2010 Half dollar and is I think the first issue.

You guys have really peaked my interest with all your finds.

I just changed my order to 2 boxes a week of halves and 6 boxes of dimes. It takes about 3 days to get through them once the kid is sleeping.

Looking for a second Bank, my first bank is a small local bank.

What big chain bank is the best?

Allfome, I live in a small town and the only big bank here is Wells Fargo, They have been really nice and haven't had any issues ordering. The percentage of silver is low compared to the local banks I deal with. I have had better luck with my local banks. One local bank and Wells Fargo get their boxes from the same Fed location, they get the yellow and white wrapped rolls in the rectangle box. The other bank I deal with, I get the black and white rolls square shorter box. So far the Black and white rolls have yielded me a better percentage of silver. Not sure that really means anything, just passing along information of what I am experiencing. How are you doing on the dimes? What kind of silver are you pulling?

Strange, my rolls are white with brown stripes on the ends.

Well ordered my first box from Wells Fargo. They had 4 rolls there so I took them also.

1967
1968 D

7 silver halves this month in loose or bank/CW rolled. Hopefully I will have luck with a box for a change. Just one silver in a box will have made all these boxes worth it, but I am hoping for more than that!

BISHFTL, How long has it taken you to get through 587,980 coins searched? Also whom here has been half searching the longest. I know it is not me because I started November 2013 give or take a month.

I started searching in Sept 2011 and searched that amount in just over a year. in Sept-oct 2012 I was cutoff from searching because another member of the bank was dumping 10-12k in halves a day at my branch. the manager took it out on me by not allowing me to order boxes anymore. of course the other guy wasn't allowed to dump there anymore either but it didn't help me at the time.

Sept 2013 I was allowed to order once again but don't have the $$$ to do it anymore. I've been unemployed for just over 2 years now and barely getting by.

I make extra money off NIFC rolls so I do trades with other members here in exchange for silver I have collected.

I have 12 boxes coming this week, I was worried about burning out my banks, it seems that as of now they are willing to keep me supplied with boxes. Wells Fargo has it the best because all they have to do is order them. They don't have a coin machine so they don't get coins dumped back on them. I am able to break up my dumps between three other banks. Sure would love to see another Monster Box! "LOVE THE HUNT"!

Dimes are doing good, I buy 6 boxes every week.
I have only been recording the finds for the last 10 weeks.

Normally 1-5 per box

133 silver dimes including 26 Mercury and 12 canadian silvers in the last 10 weeks

But 1 week I hit it big 1 box yield 28 and the last box yielded 41 all silver rosies.

Allfome, nice dime pulls, something I will think about. It still blows me away how much silver is out there. Thanks for the info.

4 boxes today yielded 3, 90%ers and 32, 40%ers, 3, NIFC, 2, Proofs, a really nice 87D and six other very nice halves I can stick in my book for fills.

Franklin
1-62D
Kennedys
2-64D
3-66
13-67
12-68
4-69
Proofs
1-81S poor
1-83S very good
I have another 4 boxes I will finish up from a different bank. Also will be picking up another 4 boxes tomorrow. Out of the four boxes I have left two have yellow markings and the other have brown they look a bit older than what I am use to getting. "LOVE THE HUNT"!

So brown stripes on a roll is older rolls? I normally dread getting a full box of new coins, but with halves being NIFC since 2002? 2001? (I don't even know which was the last circulation year), I wouldn't mind so much. ANYWAY! What is that strange one there in the bottom corner with 7 sides?

Shadz, I am not sure that is the case, The box has brown writing on it, the coins rolls are black and white. Not sure which rolls are older when it comes to color. This is the first time I have gotten boxes with brown writing, its all been yellow before. "LOVE THE HUNT"!

Where I live I pray that I get the long flat rectangular boxes. They produce 10x's better than those of the small brown cubes w/ white and black rolls.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, and I apologize for being the bearer of bad news, but I thought I would chime in with a reality check: finds like Arby96 is having are not sustainable, especially in a small town. There is a finite amount of silver, including silver halves, in each Fed coin vault, and the number of Fed coin vaults in each area is limited. Many have already been hunted-out.

Enjoy your success while it lasts.
