Nice boxes makes it great to hunt.
Wife just picked up 2 boxes of halves and 6 boxes of Dimes.
Hopefully some success.

My guess is coins are coming from people cashing in coins. Many may not realize that the late 1960s were 40percent and silver is in proof sets as well for over 20 yrs.

Angel2004, given arby96 said he lives in a small town, then the number of people cashing in silver halves would be very low and infrequent. This would result in unsustainable silver finds.

$190.00 face today from local bank. 11 ea. 40% including one 76-S and 3 ea. 64's
Also found an AU 72-P Ike type 2 and an MS 76 type 1

Berto, I know this is unusual to get so many silver halves. I just hope it last a while, I think you will still see silver with the addition of these coin machines popping up everywhere. When you research this blog from 2009 the numbers haven't changed much. It is still a great way to get silver cheep. "LOVE THE HUNT"!  "LOVE THE HUNT!"

Arby-great finds! Continuos silver is unsustainable, but it is all about the thrill of hunt and you never know what you will get: this is the fun of why we are all on this site:). Ending a dry streak with a great box makes it all worthwhile .

Even if you live in a small town banks get coin orders from other larger banks aside from customers bringing them in

 Monster Box Alert This is crazy, Pulled 165 silver pieces from my last four boxes, over 140 came from one box. This I believe is the same Sliver vein of the green and red striped coins, remember a few post ago I had boxes I called Christmas tree boxes because of the red and green stripes on the coins, two of the three boxes had those same red and green stripes on these coins. That last batch produced those 64's and I think this is from the same hoard. One box had 116 64's. I got these boxes from the same bank. Here are the numbers, Walkers 1-34 2-43,1-D Franklins 1-52 1-58D 1-60D 1-61D 1-62D 3-63D Kennedys 116-64D 1-64P 3-65 5-66 13-67 16-68 2-69 Proofs 1-72S 1-73S 2-76S 1-77S 2-82S 1-87S I know this excitement won't last and will get back to 3-5 coins if I am lucky. I think most people would be amazed at the amount of volume the armored carriers have on hand to meet customer demand. If they run out...which is rare ... All they do is order more.

The Feds don't have a clue how much silver is in their vault. How often do coins return to the mint to be destroyed? Do they even look for the silver? SSHHHHHH Don't tell the government the silver is out there. "LOVE THE HUNT!"

The coins go somewhere.
I have been through spells where there are tons of marked coins and then a few months later they all disappear to never be seen from again.
Their may periodical Fed Call backs to cull silver, redistricting, or who knows what but I can guarantee this a definite changing of the stock from time to time over the last 3 years.

1,90% a 1962 Benjamin appears to be a proof.
11,40% 10,1967 and 1,1968
There was tons of 1971,1972 and 1974 in these boxes I,m
surprised I found any thing.
