My 3rd string bank told me today they couldn't order me anymore halves. 2 boxes. 3 NIFC, 2/3 of a Magicians coin, and a bb gun half.

The 2008 roll is a cool find.

Ugh..... :( Got my first box today and it looks sorted through already. Which I don't understand since the rolls are all bank wrapped and the box was sealed. But sure enough, it looks like most of the coins have all been marked by two different collectors. Every roll I open so far has multiple marked coins. Some idiot uses a red permanent marker on MS quality 2001s.... I understand that you may not need 2001s for your collection or whatever, but do you have to ruin them for others?!?! So my excitement about my first box has turned into frustration..... Guess that's what I get for having an amazing coin day yesterday.....
Gotta wait for the kids to go to bed to go through the rest of the box. Hopefully I'll have something more exciting to report later.

I wouldn't even know what I would do with a mint roll. If I got one it would be my luck it is on that I don't already have so would be likely to bust it open for a hole filler. I must ask do you ahve accounts at all the banks you use, or just lucky? I only asked at Wells Fargo as a bank I don't use, but thinking about making a bank run since there is a LOT of bank near me. Glad you found some more silver, now I can sleep tonight knowing there is more out thee, because if you can find it, then I still have a chance getting my 64-D and 65 to fill holes.

I have been really lucky, I have pulled 5 mint rolls since I have started, 03, 04, 06, 08, and 11. The 03,06 and 08 rolls have some nice color on the ends. So does the acid in the paper used for the rolls cause the toning? Shadz, if you are asking me I have accounts at each bank I deal with, yes. My experience is that every bank or credit union I have walked into and asked them to do something, their first question is do you have an account. Plus if I'm a customer its much more difficult for them to refuse me service. One of my plans is to check if other banks will order halves for me and if so I will open an account with them. We will see how it goes. Just keep looking I think Jack said he had a very long streak with out pulling silver and it came around again. I haven't experienced a total skunk search. I have always pulled at least 1 silver half out, but I search 4 to 12 boxes a week right now and I am still excited every time I pick them up, this searching is still very new to me, I just started last November. I was pulling copper coins from pennies before I started the halves. I had no Idea 5 months ago so much silver was still in circulation. Don't give up some poor soul will dump a bunch one day and you will purchase the box that contains them.

The previous searcher dumped them in a coin counter (that is, they did not re-roll them). The counter contents are shipped off in bags, where they are then machine rolled and boxed.

My #1 bank denied the increase from 2 to 4 boxes, but at least I can still get the 2 boxes.
I recently found 2 bank branches around my work area that have coin counters, going to set up an account at the closest after I talk with the manager.
I go in upfront and talk to the bank manager and discuss buying coins before I waste my time to open an account and find a kind no from the teller.
2 boxes 5 40% 1 90% 1951 2 clad S proofs 1987 and 2000
Happy hunting
By the way I find the information in this forum very helpful and supportive so keep up the discussions.

I'm starting to think the box of half dollars isn't such a good idea.... I got my first box yesterday, went through the whole thing, and didn't find anything worth keeping. Went back to the bank to dump the box and the teller said she got some rolls and wanted to know if I wanted them. I picked up 4 rolls from her and found a 66 and 67! I'm thinking I'm going to stick with individual rolls.....

4 boxes today 2 were skunks and other 2 yielded 1-90%er and 5-40%ers, 1-90S Clad Proof, 1-09 NIFC and 1-Medio-Balboa 1980. I picked up these boxes from Wells Fargo, again I have seen these marks, I know that because I put them there. Still pulled 6 pieces of silver. All done this week, start again Tuesday. I didn't go check out any other bank today, wife had other plans for me. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Hey Chuckster I see those days ahead of me, opening 4 boxes pulling nada. I hope that streak doesn't continue. Good Luck everyone. 1-64 1-65 1-67 2-68 1-69 Always remember to "LOVE THE HUNT"!
