Agrippa, there is no way to avoid other CRH-ers in your area other than to keep at it and hope to get box with mostly unsearched rolls. Halves in my area have been hunted out. Last box I went through about 1 month ago had marks from 8 different hunters with NO silver, proofs, or NIFCs...This wave is coming toward ever CRH-er no matter where they are located.

Ummmm....I think I just wet myself! WHAT IS THIS?!?! I just found it in a roll! It gold colored and has 1960 and 1980 stamped on it. This is probably nothing, but what a rush seeing gold reeding shinning up at you when you open a roll!

SHE OPENED MY BOX! well out of the $300 left in it there was:
1987 D (if only it was a P instead of another D) 1996 S 1971 S (looks like it went 2 rounds with Mike Tyson) 1974 (holed 2nd holed coin) 1972 D (goldish colored)
still no silver. bet it was in the other 20 rolls she gave to other people.

in my area there are other crh ers they leave me notes on coins like no silver here I found it all, stop searching for silver jerk, they use a marker and write on both sides if coins, I see a lot of different markings, but the way I feel I have to out do them and do more searching so I continue on so far I am up to 75 boxes in 2013 and I will continue on,,,the thrill of the hunt and the greatest feeling of finding silver,,,,i started weighing rolls straight from box and ounce wise if its 8.00 or over thats a 90 %,,,forty's dont show so there can be two in a roll and I wont know till I tear it up.....good luck fellow hunters,,,,even on boxes where I have seen marked coins I have found silver the cash vaults dont just keep the coins together they get mixed up

Agrippa, the bicentennial you found was counterstamped and was gold plated at one time. I believe new they sold for about $6.00, but now it is worth $0.50. Keep it if you like it, if not, then set it free.

Agrippa The counter-stamp represents the 20th anniversary of Kennedy's election in 1980. They also made some in 1985 for the 25th anniversary. I have found them both gold and silver plated.

Was the counter stamp done by the mint? Looks like a homemade job to me. Crooked dates and it's indented on the reverse where the dates were punched in.

The mint does not counterstamp any coins. This was done outside the mint.

Good Day CC Family, 4 boxes today and they yielded me 4-90%ers, and 22-40%ers, 3, clad proofs, 2, NIFC, and one counterstamped first one of this style, and two foreign coins. The 76 looks like someone took their frustration out on that poor coin. Franklin 1-54S Kennedys 2-64D 1-64 1-65 1-66 9-67 8-68 3-69 2-77S 1-85S very nice toning on it, (if you like that) 1-02 1-09 I hope to be picking up 8 more boxes tomorrow from two new banks. I just hope they ordered them for me last week, if so they will be in tomorrow. "LOVE THE HUNT"!

Those are great finds guys! But I have to admit, I'm getting jealous reading all of the posts about all the coins you guys find in boxes. I've gone through 3 and a half boxes in the last week and have found nothing worth keeping really.... Is it possible the vendor my bank gets its coins from filters out silver?
