Thats a smart move trading all those 40%ers for gold...
Cutting back on boxes because my dump banks are getting overrun with coin...
8 boxes this week...

I buy from a pawn shop in may area which saves all silver even 40% for me.
The shop owner only sells at spot price for all silver, he explained that the smelter that he sells the jewerly to only pays spot silver on coins.
I feel lucky to get it at that price, small town but each week usually ends in $100 in silver coins.
I do take the 40% because that way I insure I will get all the coins each time.
He pays 90% on silver and gold so he is not getting rich off me.

4 boxes today. Finally some enders Box one had 3 enders. Ended up with 16 walkers, 3 franklins, and a 40%er. Box 2 had 2 walkers and a 40%er. Box 3 had a 40%er. Box 4 had a walker ender and ended up with 7 walkers and 2 franklins. Also found a proof and a couple of NIFC.

If I ever found anything that wasn't 71 and up Kennedy, I would think it a foreign coin at this point. still have a box waiting for me at the bank and depending on if someone pays me today like they said they would I might have it in my hands soon! and then find out again it is all 71 and up Kennedys.
I wonder how many walker or franklin sets have been made in just this thread alone?

Quote: I wonder how many walker or franklin sets have been made in just this thread alone? Good question. For what it is worth, about half of my Franklin half dollars came from roll hunting. The other half came from trading in duplicate silver Kennedy half dollars. Of course, this happened back in the 1990's.

I just got two more boxes.....I've opened 5 rolls so far and 75% of the coins have been marked. Is there a way to avoid this?
