I thought 2002 was the start of NIFC halves?

HAlves box arrived, sped through the pennies to open all those plastic wrappers to get the boxes out of the way and loose into something else so I could get to my halves box. see a sticker ender, gold reverse ender, and the reverse of what I think is a proof ender. Will update with anything else found in the box after I get the rolls opened. gold colored ender has seemed to be a good sign of finding silver for many others or somthing interesting, so I am anxious to get into it.

Officially yes, but after the 2001P's were minted very few were requested by the Fed Reserve, so apparently it was years before any made it into circulation, and I think even now very few have made it. There was a discussion about it on treasurenet.

Edit: Here is a link on the us mint site stating the 2001P's were eventually sold by the mint in bags like the NIFC's now. They apparently were never released for circulation.

Here is a milestone I hope doesn't keep up, Just experienced my first 4 box skunk in a row. I did pull two counterstrikes. I met two other people this week dumping halves. There doing two boxes a week. These four boxes were from one of my new sources and it appears they get the same boxes delivered as my other banks. Again I am seeing coins I have dumped before. That is what happens when you live in a small town. Happy Hunting! and remember to "LOVE THE HUNT"!

So, should I be keeping all the 2001 halves I keep getting as NIFC or just say "meh" and toss em back for the next fisher to catch?

Why are two of my silver from that box super shiny? could they be proofs from 66 and 67? tried taking pics of them but still have that issue with no floppy drive to transfer them. got a 15x loupe today though that I am going to try attaching to a webcam. (other than duct tape anyone know how to attach a loupe to a webcam so it can be removed or added as needed? or will I need to spend this week with a dremel making a rig for it from scratch?)

@arby, did you need P mint marks for anything because I haven't rolled anything yet from that box and am still counting out its stats.

shadz: There were no proofs made in 1966 and 1967. Only Special Mint Sets. Some of these exhibit proof-like qualities.

Nice 70D looks to be in real nice shape. Shadz not at the moment but if you need D's just let me know what you are looking for. I put together the best of the best I can find when searching. Right now I am focusing on reaching my goal for the year for silver and keeping as much free cash to purchase more boxes. I am only pulling the nicest coins to complete my sets. I am seeing less and less silver now then I was a few months ago. I have learned that three banks get there rolls from the same Fed location and the others from it appears a different one. A few of the banks provide the small square boxes with black and white rolls and the brown and white rolls and the other get the rectangle boxes with the loomas rolls the yellow and white. I will keep plugging along to see how long the drought continues.

I am finding the Loomis boxes are having more stuff to keep for me. NIFC and proofs I have only seen in them, and silver only found in the last Loomis box.

3 Brinks: 4 NIFC
4 Loomis: 3 silver, 40 NIFC, 12 proofs, 24k gold plated, stickered

not sure if I am going to finish out my 10 boxes with all Loomis or go half and half between the two. Figure I have gotten into the silver pile for my Loomis bank so I might need to dig a bit deeper into it to find what I need to finish my folder.

What am I supposed to do with these proofs though? I bought those flip things to put them in, but I have no idea what to do with them other than put 4 staples in it and set them aside. Wonder if I should try going for a set of them?
