Bag and roll searching does have a two way feelings, as you hit pay dirt SILVER.

Who knows why someone dumped. I am only concern when I find nice stuff, in my bags is: I hope it was not stolen or spent by the grand kids

Me-you-all CRSers are spending a lot of time gasoline and effort to make the search worth it.

Name me a greedy 'ol person, but when I find a coin, I figure I earned it for my trouble of searching.

And while the original collector had it, I believe she-he enjoyed it.

I found a 1998-P that weighs 10.2g
Is this Quarter stock?

10.2 would not be quarter stock as quarter stock are 8.7g to 8.8g.

I have about 7 halves that are 10.4g which leads me to theorize that there was a middle rolling step between half stock of 11.2g and quarter stock of 8.8g which created the 10.4g.

However all of my 10.4g are late 1970's and early 1980's.

On my way up to FUN, I stopped at a dozen banks or so. I definitely went through a few dump banks. But on the bright side I ended up with 5 90% and 5 40%. I founder a 1935 walker at one bank and the next had a Franklin. Both were in teller trays... Go figure.

My box Saturday had pretty good results in my book. This box had quite a few casino-type coins too. Edges worn completely smooth and faces really scratched up.

So far I've saved all the NIFC's but I don't have a real good plan for them yet. I'm 8 boxes into my roll hunting career at this point so the amount of $$ I have tied up in NIFC is insignificant as of now. Same for the space they take up; no big deal now.

What I think I will do though is accumulate one roll for each year and mint. For any given year, once I have a roll complete and my album is complete, I'll start returning any additional of that year that show up. I just don't see a big need to keep bunches of them. But if I need to sell at some point, having a roll seems like it would provide some chance at making a slight profit on the deal.

Like you said, ebay would probably not be worth it. But perhaps a guy could trade a roll for a few pieces of silver locally?

Proof finds are always nice. Those three look really good.
