Thanks everyone, hope you all have great weeks next week. Keep up the hunt!. Don't know how long this ride will last but I am taking it as far as I can. Every time I get into a skunk streak I don't get too discouraged, because I know its just a matter of time before I pull something. I have been seeing a bunch of coins that I marked after someone else already placed a mark on the coin. I wanted to see how long it was taking me to find them again, I marked a so many but didn't date them. LOL So if I see my mark again I will have to put a date on them. The good news is I am still getting silver with those coins I dumped before. Don't give up.

So here in FL I am not the only one searching for silver..I was in line today right behind an older man who asked for Half dollars and when the lady brought a box he said that those were the ones he had already looked through. He seemed to want the Dunbar boxes (same as me) since they seem to still be loaded with silver. I'm pretty sure these Brinks boxes are dry aside from one or two once in a while.
Do we need to start having turf battles for half dollars or?..... :P

Went to a different bank branch to hopefully score some silver halves, but got nothing. However, I did bring 2 $20 bills to trade for fives, spotted an older one in the drawer, asked the teller if I could see it, and he said it was from 2003. I told him that I liked the older design bills, and that the new ones were released in 2008. He told me that he would give me all the older fives, and searched through what must've been at least $500 worth. There was only one other five with the older design, but I told the teller he could give me normal ones to cover the $40 I exchanged. The other five with the older design is from 1999, and is in better condition than the one I already have, so at least there's a consolation prize. I have a 5 and a 10 from 1999, but I'm still looking for a 1 dollar bill since 1999 is my birth year. I don't collect 20's and higher since their face value is too high, but I'm satisfied with what I got.

Quote: Do we need to start having turf battles for half dollars or?..... :P I envision an octagonal cage, miscellaneous weapons, and three boxes on a platform suspended six feet up from the middle.

4 boxes from yesterday. 1 box had a roll that was taller then the rest. I opened that roll first to count them and sure enough there was $10.50 in there and a 40%er Total for box 1 was 2 40%ers and a proof. Box 2 had an albino wrapper. At the bottom of the box was a blank post it note 4 40%ers and a proof. Box 3 had an ender. 2 40%ers and a used bandaid Box 4 had 3 40%ers and a cloths hanger hook. Also found a bunch of NIFC. The last few weeks worth of boxes that had silver also had 2006 NIFC like today.

One of my dump banks requires name and phone number on the rolls I bring in. I got a call today from a man in a neighboring town saying he had got some half dollars I'd taken to a bank and wanted to know if there were any older silver halves in them. What kind of idiot does he think I am, putting silver into circulation? I just wonder how many of the $2500. worth I took to that bank a few weeks ago he bought? Just for fun, I should have told him there was a Barber half in one of the rolls just so he'd have looked through them all.

Jack I might have taken the whole box back if I found a bandaid lol, That is why I use gloves to search coins, I have become crazy in my old age. Glad to see you found some silver, That is what I love about this blog, if you guys are still finding silver its only a matter of boxes before I do. "LOVE THE HUNT!"
