Ive been following this forum for a little bit now and decided to join in, ive been coin roll hunting for a couple years now and I just started searching halves recently, "before that it has been dimes and nickels." Ive gone through 7 boxes so far, my first had 3 40%ers, 2nd and 3rd box were skunks, 4th box had 2 40%s. The other day I picked u my 4th and 5th box, I get home and open the first box and instantly see 2 40% enders and think I may have got my first dream box, me and my gf start searching through them and roll after roll have silver, some rolls even have 4 coins a piece while some others don't have any. By the end of the box I ended up with a total of 34 40%ers and 8 64s, it was an amazing feeling coming across this box. Unfortunately the sister box to this didn't have any silver but it did have a bicentennial proof but I couldn't complain after the first box. Since then ive had two more boxes both with no silver. Ill add pictures as soon as I get them on my computer.

Rumorskye, and wish you the best of luck, Great finds everyone, Love seeing those pic. All those beautiful pictures tell me I will be finding silver soon. On my way to pick up 4 boxes, maybe 8 if my other bank placed the order for me this week, since they forgot last week. KEEP UP THE HUNT AND PHOTOS!

Are the counter-stamps anything of interest?

im losing a dump cu that took 1k a week in halves.... I need to come up with another plan or back down to 2 boxes a week instead of 4. I'mgoing to try to work with existing cu that is moving locations and not having a counter at the new place... see if I can come up with an arrangement, but I'mnot too hopeful. I will prob seek out another dump bank if need be.
nice finds rumorskye and welcome. That box is an excellent box!

Latest trip to the bank asked if they had any rolls of half dollars. Teller says, "Cindy has a BUNCH of them, let me go ask her." I get excited and Cindy says she has five rolls. I purchase them but immediately get crestfallen as I see they are machine wrapped rolls with one end neatly sliced off. I've never seen a one-ended roll before so I assumed that one end had been cut off and that they had been searched, placed back in the original roll, and them dumped back off at the bank. Rolls yielded nothing. I will have some fun though spending them.

I just went to the bank yesterday to dump $1000 in halves. The teller helping me was one I had not ever met before, and she was very nice and told me how she had been seeing a lot of halves recently. She then told me that there was a pair of ladies who stopped by that bank earlier in the day and dropped off $150 in halves. The halves were from their mom's closet that they found when they cleaned it out after their mother had passed away. My ears perked up, and I told her that I would take them if that was ok, and she said that was perfectly fine and that she didn't have any idea what was in them. I thanked her and took the halves to the parking lot and started to open them in my car. I was pretty excited as I left because I knew this was pretty lucky, and I hadn't had a teller offer up a stash like that before. I went through all 15 rolls in about 5 minutes and I found 2 1969 40%ers. None of the halves were any newer than 1981, so they definitely were hoarded in a closet somewhere for 30+ years. Not quite what I had hoped for, but definitely not complaining, as it is better than the 2 boxes I dropped off that only yielded 2 low quality 40%ers. I'm going to go through them a litle more carefully 1 more time and pick out some upgrades for my Kennedy folder.
