Thanks for the info ratman4762
Regarding the "Silver Clad Proofs", your right, I'm using wrong terminology.
I just figured by looking at the rim they were clad and not Silver they must be Silver Clad when in reality they are just Clad Proofs.
Except the 2007S Silver Proof that I found a while ago, that one was pure Silver and weighed in at 12.50 Grams. :)
On the 83's, not sure if it's even worth holding on to them if no trace at all has to be the criteria.
I can see 2 very, very small spots that might be where the top of the F & G is on one coin and the other 2 its just a combo of gouges scratches etc, not sure if any letters are there or not.
Thanks again for the info.

Hey I'm new to this forum after reading most of your searches I'm posting mine I just started searching for silver in rolls and other dates for my album well heres what I found: out of 270$ of rolls 90%-4 40%-14 ben franklins -3 walkers-none i found a total of 21 silver coins so is that good for 270$ or ok
one last thing on one of the bicentennials I found the dash mark between 1776 and 1976 the "-" was missing is this an error or...?

I would say that's pretty good! Sometimes you might do better...most other times you'll do worse! Just be persistant and keep at it and you'll see your hoard grow! It's addictive!

To Unnknown95 Anytime you find silver its good! You did really good especially finding Franklins! About the Bicentennial, I am no expert and you should check around, but the "dash" ( dot actually) it probably was a weak strike in that area, and probably still not worth a whole lot. Chuckster,I do have book by Allen & Potter ( Strike it rich w/ pocket change, 2008) and it does show the Kennedys 83 with no FG. It values it as $3.25 in XF, $5.00 in AU & $10.00 uncirculated. Maybe worth more now who knows but hope this helps!

Hunting this weekend has been a little bit of a let down. Someone has moved into my hunting territory and they are re rolling searched coins in fed wrappers; I first saw this 45 minutes from my house a few months back. My banks I go to now have huge hoards of re rolled coins in fed wrappers. I was a little frustrated after I picked up a hundred dollars worth. Time to restrategize.

CashGardner, look at the bright side! At least you know they've been searched and can save yourself some time! What I really like is when they reroll them in flat wrappers and return them in the original box! I've run into people dumping at banks that I've previously gotten silver from. Ticks me off! If I can I'll buy them up and move them to my dump banks in hopes of keeping that bank clean of junk! Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. I have hopes that it was a "drive by Dumper" on a road trip like I was a few days ago!

Thanks ratman. Its frustrating when you don't find customer roles but then think you can rely on some fed rolls only to find out that someone meticulously opened them all and rolled them shut and put a tiny x on them. A few of the rolls only had 19 in them and between the banks they must have 3 grand of these rolls!

Wow! That's a lot to do battle with! LOL. Maybe restrategizing is in order! You can always look for new banks to search and dump at these banks too!

well I guess where I live there are not that many collectors and when I went to the bank today and got 210$ worth in half dollars after searching it I found
90%-1 40%-17
i consider this pretty good for searching only 210$ worth it took about 4 minutes to search all I will go back later for error searching/key dates. Its like earning 50$ every 4 minutes or 750$ an hour!!
this brings my totals of searching up to
90%-5 franklins -3 90%- 31
im just so happy not to brag but I've only been at this for about a month and I have searched 480$ not too much.

Two Loomis boxes last night netted 1 40% 67. Silver just isn't in the boxes around here anymore. Road trips are going to have to become the norm.
