4boxes, 1 skunk. 7 total silvers. A 63, 3 x 64, and 3 x 40%. Nice ratio of 90% to 40%, good boxes for sure.

Good luck to all searchers!

Just finished my last 4 boxes for the week, now on a two week skunk streak, for a total of 32 boxes with no silver, This truly sucks, Don't feel too good it will end soon. Wishing you all the best of luck. May Silver continue to find its way to you all. Have a great weekend everyone.

Arby, I know I haven't posted in a long time but I've followed this thread closely for a couple years. And your posts always encouraged me to keep hunting through thick and thin. So I just want to wish you the best as you push through lean times. (I happen to be in about a 5-month rut of barely any finds myself). May your upcoming 1000th post bring on the silver!!

JDK350 Thanks, I stay encouraged by all the great posts here, If others are finding silver, I know its only a matter of boxes before I score, I went and dumped today, before I went to my dump bank I stopped by one of my other banks to withdraw some cash, and the teller told me he had $150 of CWR so of course I purchased them, Low and behold Silver yes! not only did I get some silver I scored a 1953 and 1963 $2 United States Note, Red Seals, not in the best of shape but I like them. So it was a good ending to the week, The silver are all 40%ers, 1-65, 1-66, 2-67, 2-68, and, 2-69s. Hope that is a good sign for next week. Have a great weekend.

way to go arby, that is squeezing blood from a stone! I hope its a sign as well, good luck sir. And congrats on the 1000th post, jdk was right, you posted with silver finds!

my last 4 boxes of the week left me happy. 2 boxes were skunks.

The other 2 gave up a total of 20 coins, including 7 x 90%, including a very nice 42p, a 54s, 61, and a 63. Same batch of boxes from yesterday, and the above average 90% to 40% ratio kept up. Great boxes.

Good luck all,

Arby, congratulations on breaking the skunk streak. Hard to believe so many skunks so soon after the holiday dumps. I hope this isn't a sign of what the rest of the year holds for us. I haven't finished my boxes for the week so I won't post my finds until I'm finished. I believe I got a lot of my own coins back this week too. I've started pulling all of one date/mint mark out of my boxes. Two of the boxes I've searched this week so far have been very low on that date/mm with one only having 2 and the other only having 3. In a normal week it's not unusual for me to find 20-40 per box. I got this idea a few months ago (maybe 4-6 months ago) to help me determine if I was getting my own coins back without marking up coins someone else might want for their collection. This is the first week since I started doing this that I've got boxes that I think were mostly my own dumps. The only bad thing about doing this is that some poor searcher gets a box loaded with coins of the same date/mm. Can you imagine the look on someones face when they start searching a box of halves and they're all the same date/mm and they're not new coins?

I finished searching my boxes for the week. Things were a bit slow this week. I found 1 piece of silver, a 1969D. Only other finds were 1 1972S proof and I think between 80-100 2002-date NIFC. On to next week for bigger and better things. 2017 YTD silver 19.1593 troy oz. I was hoping to break 20 oz. for the year this week, but it just wasn't to be.

we live in the same area pretty much
You in New Mexico and me in Texas so we probably get coins from the same source. I'm seeing the same thing here as you it has dropped off drastically although I'm not getting totally skunked. I'm seeing coins I marked from 2 months to 5 years ago and many other marked recently dumped coins by other collectors for several weeks now. Several years back I had a $32,000 skunk streak so I cut back for awhile until I saw better results. So I'm cutting back again.

This week I did 17 boxes this is what I found.

Nice finds, trapper! Hopefully I have more boxes to pick up today... In the meantime, I got some nail polish remover from my sister (it contains acetone) and it did some wonders to my 1987-D half I found last week...

J77, whomever marked an '87 JFK half is truly foolish. It cleaned up nicely using nail polish remover, but I've been told to instead use pure acetone. You may want to consider using pure acetone next time.
