Stopped by the bank yesterday to see if they had any half dollars (usually hit or miss, mostly miss) and the assistant manager was working the window. When I asked about the coins he said they had $1200 from a guy who found them while demolishing a house. I got all excited and took $500 figuring that a good showing would lead to a return visit the next day. Very disappointed with the results: no silver and 2 NIFC. Had quite a few marked coins. Some with initials, some with dates, and others with various colored marks.
Am I the only person who really dislikes that searchers mark coins?

Joe, I also do not like finding marked coins. I do not care if acetone will remove the ink marks. Marking coins is inconsiderate of other collectors.

Joe, I also do not like finding marked coins. I do not care if acetone will remove the ink marks. Marking coins is inconsiderate of other collectors I am with both of you 100%. Found a very nicely toned 2011-P in my box from yesterday... marked up on the reverse. I hate the smell of acetone, by the way, but at least it works. No silver in either of my two boxes from the week, but a 1987-D and 13 "normal" NIFCs (12 different dates and mints) made them fine by me.

Berto, 90% Alcohol takes off magic marker and it does not hurt the coin, Marking coins as a CRH gives the individual some indication how long it takes for coins to return to them. Its a a good tool. Damaging coins is a whole other issue. Just my Two Cents. Last four boxes for the week 1-67, I did rescue a very nice 2016S Clad Proof, my first 2016 proof. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and a great weekend. May you all be blessed with much silver next week.

Happy Easter, arby96 and congrats on the silver and the 2016-S Proof... I'm still looking for my first 2016-P half, by the way... amazing to me that these proofs are out there.

Happy Easter to you as well John77, Its taken me longer this year to get the 2016 proof than the 2015 proofs last year, I still haven't seen any 2017 NIFC yet, I think it will be around September or October before I get one.

Over the last 2 weeks I picked up my usual 13 boxes but haven;t had time to go through them in a timely manner and post my findings so a lot of them got mixed up. I managed to make it through 10 or the 13 boxes. 2 boxes had enders and some decent silver. A couple of the boxes were skunks. The others had 1 or 2 40%ers if I was lucky. So out of 10 boxes: 35 40%ers, 8 1964, a gold painted, 3 proofs, and a few NIFC including a 2016.

Nice finds Jack. I haven't posted here in several weeks so thought I'd update my YTD total. I'm currently standing at 40.221 troy oz. and have been get 2 boxes a week for the last few weeks. I've been having some health issues so have done very little looking for another dump bank. Maybe when I get straightened out I'll see if I can find a bank willing to order and take dumps for me again and I can get back in the game. Good luck to everyone in their quest for free silver.

congrats everyone on your silver finds! Also, hope everyone had a good Easter! Rcook I hope you get to feeling better and you find another bank to help get you back in the game. My boxes were pretty good this week. Two of my 6 boxes had a lot of marked coins like last week. The other 4 boxes produced exactly 50 silver coins. 3 walking liberty ( 1942s, 1943d, 1944d), 2 franklin (both 1963d) . 8 1964, and 37 40%. This is my best I've got in a little while. It sure makes getting all those marked coins easier to deal with. Keep up the hunt! Good luck everyone!

A very nice surprise picking up a few boxes on lunch-It's been a decade since I found one these beauties in a roll - it wasn't an ender, but check out the ender bonus below the pic, found in the same box so far! I'll update later with the results of the box, but I like what I see so far !
