They offer coin processing services to financial institutions. They also have coin machines for both industrial (banks) and self services. So yes they are pulling all the keepers out of their coin processing services. That is where they are getting their coins from. That does not mean that all the boxes with their wrappers have gone through their coin sorting facility. It just means wherever your boxes came from, they used the N.F. String & Sons wrappers. It would be easy for them to pull keepers because if they count the coins first with a coinstar type machine it would reject the silver. However, these guys are not processing for banks.

If you look at their machines, you can see that they do not have an external reject slot. So even if they are "rejecting" silver, its going to a separate bin internally that they recover.

This is my last reply on the topic because I understand how banks get their money. NF Strings is ONLY selling the supplies to roll the coin. If the armored car companies were culling silver then this thread would have been dead years ago.

I don't think we are in disagreement here. I also understand how the banks coin operations work. I agree that the armored car companies are not culling silver. Many of them use the N.F. String & Sons Wrappers and boxes and have no other connection to N.F. String & Sons. Now with that being said, obviously N.F. String & Son are using their own coin machines in banks in the local Harrisburg PA area to cull the goods and sell on ebay. That is the only point I am trying to make here. I am in no way saying that any of the boxes being delivered from any other armored services are having the Silver culled from them. NFS&S will obviously be sending the rest of their coin out to a local armored carrier however and could therefore slightly dilute the local supply, but I doubt they are capturing anything but a minor percentage. |

I used to search $5,000 of halves every week many years ago. I would see this crap about "NF Strings" or some other brand. When it's coming from a bank it's not being culled. Guys, like myself, used to order from one bank and dump at another. The $5,000 I was getting from a small bank that had a direct FED account. So, they place an order to their armored car company and they went to the Dallas FED and picked up their order. Big banks like Chase, Wells Fargo, BofA will have central vaults that X number of branches will use within a certain proximity. I was friends with a BofA bank manager and they actually had to use 2 armored car companies because 1 couldn't service all of their branches. In this example, if you dump a bunch of halves at a BofA branch, they may, send them out. They will go to their central vault. The FED only accepts a minimum of $2,000 of halves or 2 50# FED bags. If you order from BofA you may get your halves back.

I dumped a bunch of Ike dollar culls at a BofA branch. Ended up getting them back from another bank a year or so later. It's the chances you take... |

IM TBM Sorry took so long to reply, went hunting the last 6 days for Mule Deer, I have better luck hunting silver! I just finished up my last four boxes from last week, 1 skunk ended up with 3-90%ers and 1-40%er. 1-58D Bennie, 2-64's one of each and 1-67. I also took out 9-NIFC,2-02, 1-04, 1-06, 5-16's. So I am behind picking up boxes this week. Wishing you all well. Interesting reading over the last several pages. Stuff.

ImTBM and I still didn't answer your question, I search 12 to 16 boxes a week. Hey everyone, just finished up my first 8 boxes for this week, all skunks! Zip zero zilch nada and nothing!

THat's a lot of boxes...will probably order one to try soon...NF Strings might only sell coin wrappers, but their subsidiary is selling "truck loads of copper pennies" (their own words in one of their ads) and pounds & pounds of silver...facts are facts...
