basicbob101 Pillar of the Community United States 819 Posts	Posted 04/27/2018 6:42 pm I said before that I was going to give up on half dollar roll searches and did so for quite some time. have found a few silver from teller trays. Yesterday I asked a teller for any loose half dollars and was told they had two boxes. On investigation the boxes were sealed with Dunbar tape so I gave in and got one. Sure enough....nothing. That makes about 14 or 15 boxes with no silver. think I am going to go to penny roll searches, may find a 1909-S VDB before I find a 40% silver half. Report this Post to the Staff

In a customer roll I picked up at Comerica, I found a 2017 P and D and a 2015 P and D in the same roll. I kept those as they are fairly newer. Report this Post to the Staff

At first I thought I picked up part of a coin collection dump. But, I already have something like a dozen or more of just 2015-D I found in rolls. I'm wondering if the US Mint is dumping into circulation all of the unsold coins. I can't imagine someone buying these from the mint at approx 1.5 of face and cashing them in only at face value. The only other possibility is people buying these hoping to be the first to find some kind of error. When none are found, they just dump them. Something on the order of "speculating". The teller had 4 rolls that produced 1 Ben, 4 90%, 4 40%. Surprisd and happy. Lately I am doing much better on the percentage of 90%. Report this Post to the Staff

A lot of banks in my area don't have halves, but the bank I use is a small bank, and I got lucky that they have halves. I already searched them. There was no silver, but I found 3 NIFC halves, the newest being 2010. All I found was the NIFC halves. I plan on getting more halves soon. I really hope to find some silver soon. shotgung Pillar of the Community United States 1101 Posts	Posted 04/29/2018 12:52 pm Went to a PNC branch and asked if they had any halves. They said 10 rolls. The teller said, "I think these are the ones you brought in last week". I looked at them and saw a specific mark on 5 rolls and I knew those were mine I cashed in the week before. I bought all 10 and opened the 5 rolls that I knew weren't mine and found quite a few silvers. All in all, $30 in 40% / 90% silvers. Pretty good haul. Report this Post to the Staff
