Made another stop teller had a roll of halves that contained 7 really nice 69s. He tells me the other teller has halves but is out to lunch back in a half hour. So of course I go to lunch and come back. She has 4 rolls. I open the first Ben on top rest of the roll all silver. Second and third rolls the same with the 40% looking like they just came out of an original roll. Totals from that one bank 20 Bens, 19 90% and 25 40%.My pictures not so good I know. I know I sound like a broken record but how can people just drop off coins like that at the bank? Report this Post to the Staff

Sometimes, it's because people don't know that '65 - 70 are 40% silver. Sometimes, I think people save them, get old, forget they have value, turn them in. I think some family members inherit the coins, bring them to the bank with other non valuable coin rolls. Let's face it, some of the coins are stolen. My other theory is that there are far more varieties of coins out there, all kinds on Washington quarters, dollar coins, Jefferson's, etc. and "odd coins" are less likely to stand out than say in the 1980's to 2000. I checked another two boxes last week both skunked. Those finds Cabo are making me mouth water. Boy do I miss that silver. cabowabo Pillar of the Community United States 1084 Posts	Posted 03/21/2022 10:58 am Did some hunting on Thursday. At this one bank teller had $3.50 in halves out of that 1 Ben and 3 90%. She tells me other teller has more halves I'm thinking big here. Well he brings me $60 nothing at all in there. He then askes me if I want more halves that someone is coming in next week to give him a call. I guess I'll call and take a chance hopefully not a dump. Few more stops produced another 9 40%s.
