mitchhailey Pillar of the Community United States 1150 Posts	Posted 02/12/2011 1:39 pm Ok. From now on I'll set aside the 72s and 74s aside and give 'em a once over with a loupe. I think I'm lucky in the sense that my bank has no problem ordering boxes for me at no charge, plus they are always the S&Ss rolls. And yesterday I told them that I take the coin I order from them and dump it at a BOA, but they said not to worry about it and just bring it back to them (where I order it). Another thing a lady at a BOA told me. She said that if I return coin to them in those big plastic bags, and I know how much is in the bag and I write the amount on the bag, than they don't charge me for having the coins counted. If I give them a bag full of coin and don't know the amount in the bag, that is when they charge for counting. Even though they count them either way. I don't know if that helps anyone, but it helped me. Report this Post to the Staff

The first roll offered up a 1969S! However, it has a little acne. I believe the correct term is pitting? Anyway, there are small specks on the mirrored background. Good half week for me so far. I see various posts on both sides of the issue - some say it is OK to melt silver coins, but not copper pennies. Some say it is illegal to melt ANY U.S. coins. I've got 2 coins left to complete the set - 1970D and 1987P. I think my find rate for silver is so low that getting that 70D will take forever. After finding ~45 40%ers in the past year I only just found my first 1965 today! Report this Post to the Staff
