Actually I'm talking about skunk boxes I picked up on my way home from work and just went through in the McDonald's parking lot.

I just hate to go through these while I'm driving the car, that's such a pain and all.

So, I found some pretty discouraging stuff last night. I typically go through 10 boxes a week and have had mixed results. In February, I started making the end of rolls. I did this because I wanted to see if and how long it would take for me to get some of the same coins back.

I got 10 boxes last night and I think I got every single coin I marked in the month of February. Very disappointing.

I don't mind getting skunk boxes, it's part of it. I just hate that I am paying now for my boxes. Grrrrrrrr...

I think I am going to go to a different bank (that does not charge) and open an account and try to get from there. I'll probably get the same coins, but free is better than fee.

Not really looking for anything here, just venting.

Are you dumping at the same bank that you get boxes from?

Are you sure they are your marks? Unless someone is doing the reverse of you the likelihood of you getting the coins back I would think is slim due to the fact the coins aren't circulated. When you dump the coins, they should ultimately end up at the banks central vault @ whatever armored carrier they use.

LOL...just to clarify. Bank A is different than Bank B? Not just the same bank but different branches, right?

Yes........2 very different banks.

And yes. I am sure they are my marks. I marked February's coins with a "211".

The way the flow of the coins was explained to me was this: Order goes in for coins when I place it. Carrier orders coin from fed res bank (Dallas in my case) and they are delivered. I pick them up, sort, and return to bank B. Bank B bags them and sends them back to the Fed Bank where they are rolled and boxed.

I'm not saying this is 100% accurate, but only the way it was explained to me.

I also live within 2 hours from a different "region" of the Fed. So, I have considered going there and trying to order coins.

No, that is not 100% accurate. Banks contract with armored carriers such as Brinks or Loomis. For this case lets use Chase Bank and Brinks. When you dump halves at Chase they would be picked up by Brinks and taken to the central vault. Chase has its own vault and it's not shared with any other Brink's customer. This means these specific halves will stay exclusively with Chase. Now, what I don't is if/when Chase would return coin to the FED. Maybe if they have say over 100 boxes in inventory? But I would imagine this is not a quick process.

So, the key then is to make sure bank A and bank B use different carriers?
