Picked up my two boxes of halves at the local bank that I'd been using and asked if I could just have her order these once a week and she says "well actually if you are going to keep doing this, we have to charge you the brinks fee."

So, I've got close to 50K in accounts with you, my HELOC with you, just paid off my car loan with you, and you can't eat whatever the brinks fee is for bringing the coins? I have no idea what the fee could be, but I can't imagine it is a lot (I mean, it probably costs a lot to have brinks deliver stuff, but the amount extra for tossing two half dollar boxes on the truck can't be much).

Seems like the type of thing that at the very least a bank could work out an arrangement for me to be able to get them fee-free in order to keep my business. I mean, others apparently have that arrangement, and what's the point of using the bank if they can't do things like that.

Maybe it's just 1 box every other week or something like that, but come up with "pay the fees or gtfo" seems stupid.

Yeah. Part of this frustration comes from the fact that I'm realizing that a lot of people that want to sort coins first spent a long time creating relationships with their banks such that their banks are happy to eat a little bit in fees to keep the relationship. Turns out that I spent 20 years of my life building a relationship with a bank that is not willing to make any exceptions for any reason. I needed them to do a medallion signature for an account I was working with for the administration of my mother's estate and they would not do that either. They basically do nothing.

Oh well, I am going to withdraw most of my money from them, and I was able to divert another high income family that was looking to combine banks away from Commerce Bank, so at least there is that.

So they decide to scam you for fees, you are agree, and then they are unhappy? What the heck is wrong with banks, man.
