2 more boxes today and Skunked. The supply bank that has been giving me opened boxes told me that they are now going to start charging 5$ per box to order. I know now for sure the person who orders them is going through the boxes. The box last week however was not opened and was given to me by this young lady and not him. I told a little lie and it worked like a charm to show his true colors. I just found my new dump bank.

Heres how I did it. As I was buying my box from the young lady I could see he (the ordering guy) was pretty near us eavesdropping on the small talk me and her were making. This is the second time I've dealt with her and was being nice. She asked me if I ever find anything to which I replied. Why yes, as a matter of fact I found 26 Silvers, a dime and even a british 50 pence in that box you sold me last week. Box was short due to the dime and foreign but the Silver more than made up for it. I could see the expression on his face change to the look of someone who just had his bike stolen. I then told her, only 8 of them were pure silver, the rest were half silver but still it was a great find. It was at this point he came over and informed me of the "New Fee" being imposed to order my single box per week. His tone of voice, facial expression, body language and attitude said it all. He promptly went back to his office and the young lady giggled and said, maybe thats what he is always looking for when hes messing with these too.....

Ahh yes some odd reason I feel good about it. Cant wait to take him my dumps for a month or two. Maybe Ill just let it go ,who knows.

If you're finding silver consistently at your current bank wouldn't it make sense to just pay the $5/box fee?

One thing for sure is banks do get charged for money shipments; I guess since they probably don't want to be bothered, they are passing along their fees (and maybe a little more!)

What a scumbag that guy is. You order the boxes, he goes through them and then sells them to you? I would say something to the manager I would not accept that behavior from my bank at all. No way.

Yep...beyond the fact they now have no way of guaranteeing that the box contains $500.

Not all of them do. My credit union told me over and over that they didn't get charged anything to have the $1,000 bags of half dollars delivered to them and could get as many as they wanted. *shrug*

Maybe the actual 'branch location' does not see the bill from either the Fed or their correspondent bank, but there are money shipment charges (per amount) I really don't recall the exact per item amount, but there are actual money shipment (in and out) charges especially for coin. I used to work for a large bank know for sure since I used to approve the billing. Not much but of a fee but nevertheless a fee. While banks normally absorb the fees If you buy regularly, they may want to pass the fees.

Hi SD,

It's a 1972P not a 72D and yes, I've sold 2 of them on ebay in the past year and got around $10.00 dollars per coin depending on condition etc.

I still have 3, counting the one I just found today.

Compared to the 74D, I tried to sell a 74D last year and had a starting bid of $9.99 and didn't get one offer so go figure, the 72P's have sold and I can't get anything for a 74D.

Had a good two boxes today.

5 - 40%
3 NIFC
50 Pence
1915 British Penney
1911 French 10 Centimes

Even pulled a couple early 90 MS keepers. Feels good to fill a couple holes.

Truly hilarious buffalo, I wouldn't have been able to hold back the laughter, especially after he approached you.
