Also found another 1972P 1DO-001 (Coneca)Doubled Die Obverse in circulated condition, but you can clearly see the split serifs on "WE TRUST".
All in all, a very nice day for half searching.

4 boxes this week and pulled two 2009 half dollars, which seemed really weird, and that was it. Whoever is wrapping these brownish colored rolls needs to go. I want my red-brinks-rolls with lots of silver in it back :(
Also went through a box of times and found an extremely shiny 2011 dime and.... that was it.

Wowww Russ.. That's a killer haul man. Did all boxes have some silver in em? Or was it concentrated in just a few ?

In honor of Earth Day I drove to all the local Coinstars. After a fruitless search I went to the bank and got 2 rolls of quarters 2 rolls of dimes and on a whim I asked for a roll of halves.
As I expected they didn't have rolls so I took what they had in loose coins.

Thats like $30 worth of silver right there for current melt right? Not bad...not bad at all.
I'm confused though some people are saying that there are 1967 90%ers I thought they were all 40% from 1965-1970 (aside from SMS). Also all 1971 (except for S) on are nonprecious clad right? ?

Great Haul Russ789! No reason why they are concentrated in one or two boxes that I can figure out. My one and only monster box from last year had over 120 in one box and the other 7 boxes combined that week were virtually duds. I also had over 60 in one box and 20 in another with the other 6 being skunks,and yet days like this week that had 24 were spread out over the entire 8 boxes. |

Nice Russ. It was concentrated in 2 boxes likely due to a $1000 bag with a load in it. It could also be a deposit from a bank. The. Fed requires at least a $1000 to turn in - at least that is what a bank told me.

Nobis1: Yeah, I figured it had to do with time of deposit. The bank I got these from uses Dunbar who I am thinking gets the halves directly from the FED. The reason I say that is this is the first bank I have encountered that only lets you order in $1,000 increments. Now my question is this: When do banks turn halves back into the FED? I did find a couple coins that someone wrote "BRINKS" on.

Banks have cash shipments weekly for the most part and can order or ship whatever they wish in the increments required to ship. (all currency/coin has a ship in and out value per dollar amount)
