Almost every coin has a dot on it, and I've not found a silver in them ever. I wonder if telling my bank that brinks is charging them to roll and bring in coins that are customer rolled would help. I am starting to wonder if we are approaching the end of wild silver within the year. I hear you...if only I had known all these years...sucks getting in this late...plus I don't have the finances/comfort level to fork over $500 to dig through boxes. Additionally, when banks get too many boxes of halves in their main vault they will send them back to the FED. I mean, maybe there will be a roll that is short or has something weird in it, but I've never actually found a non-half dollar in my half dollar rolls, so it's not like there is anything to lose (other than time) with searching a box. I've found all kinds of weird coins. Susan B's, Quarters, Peso's, English Penny's, Irish penny's, Panamanian Balboa, Ecquador 50c and on and on, not to mention commemorative halves etc. There are all kinds of coins that slip through the system. Just waiting for a gold coin to slip through the cracks Still fun to find the foreigns if the silver isn't showing that day. Report this Post to the Staff

If it is a national bank (or at least a regional one) can you tell me which bank gives you the fed bags? 3 boxes tonight and finally the drought ended during the last box, with about 10 or so rolls left to go, and found a 1968. I distrust brinks, so the fact that brinks would not have opened the bags and put their grubby little paws on my coins is enough to try and get the bags. But, more importantly, I'd probably triple my speed at going through these things if I didn't have to mess with the wrapper. Report this Post to the Staff
