Also why how is it possible to get multiple coins with the same Initials on it in one box? it is sealed from the bank.
In other words they were obviously searched, but in sealed yellow rolls

Finally found a 1964 in a box again. First silver coin in a while. I have 3 more boxes at home. These all appear to actually be brinks-wrapped (not wrapped by some customer) so at least there is a chance that there will be some more silver. Still never found a ben, though.

Been rough sleddin the last few weeks. Last week 8 boxes yielded 6 40%'s. This week, I ordered 3 boxes. Just picked up 2 of them and they are 98% BU 1996's. Last week, my last two boxes were the same. Maybe us hunters have cleaned out the inventory of circulated halves. Weird though, I live in a very populated area.
Anyway, I may get a few boxes from a different coin company next week. Until then, I think I may search more dimes. Good luck everyone.

Figured out that a US bank that is really nearby has a counter, but it has an internal "reject tray" -- I always get about 3-4 per box of 1000 half dollars that randomly get shot out the reject tray on the same model (that has an external tray), Do you think it makes sense to ask the employees to open the tray before and after? I'm just not sure if that would be too annoying. Seems awfully shifty to have the reject tray inside the machine like that.

Boy, I'm roll searching halves in order to put together a set. I'm looking for varities and errors and such. I don't see that happening in this thread. It seems to me the title of this thread is misleading. It' should read "Silver Miners: How much did ya get and where?"  |

I'm putting together a set...and pulling NIFCs which is why it takes me so long to search a roll. It helps make things more worthwhile...from the looks of this thread pure silver hunting is increasingly unprofitable anyway so people just doing that are wasting time.
The allure of silver is strong though, high liquidity,good money or hedge, easy to pull (if present), and doesn't require poring over literature or worrying about condition. So there are going to be those who check the rims.

There's always thrift stores and old siverware though. Does our hobby have to be melted? That's whats happening. I'm half way through my first box and so far, none from 1964-70 or after 2001. Just think what it's going to be like. It's harder to put my set together because of the miners.

Searching boxes has really dried up. I am also starting to get trouble from my bank about
dumping the coins. They will take other coins, but the halves have to be "sent out" for counting.
I only do 1 or 2 boxes a week but there are those of you who do 10 and 15 boxes and they seem to have
had enough. So in 1 week I had a bank notify me that they are no longer ordering halves and another tell me
they won't take them at the machine. I told you we need to stay under the radar. Bummer. Time to move
to dimes. They can slow me down but they can't stop me.

When roll-searching, anything shiny comes out and gets kept, it's just that the silver makes it seem more worthwhile. The fact that I can't get anything older than 1971 most of the time means that the once per 5 boxes 1968 sighting is pretty memorable.
