I got 1 box today , half way trough and nothing ! Most of the rolls are kind of open in one side , is like someone searched them then put back the coins and they are not tight and is easy to open . Is it normal on halves or it should be hard to open just like the quarters and dimes ? I wonder if I'm searching roll that somebody just searched ?! I know is not always you ll find any but these rolls looks suspect to me !

Ricardo - At one time I used to get boxes from a bank that routinely had rolls which were opened prior to me getting them. It appeared they came from the coin company that way. I no longer use that bank to order halves.
However, sometimes I find the tightness of the rolls fluctuate. So, I find that sometimes the ends are loose (and easy to open) even though they are unsearched. Hope this helps.

1968 Panama 1/2 Balboa 40% silver. They were made by the US mint so they used the same composition as out halves.
Your coin in 40% silver but I wonder... Were they 40% silver up until 1970 same as the Kennedy coins?

Is exactly what I though ... If us mint produced them so could be silver or 40% and you have a good question about the date and I have couple from 70's so I ll look for them and compare the sound and the ding test ! I ll post the results as I find them !

As far as my research shows the 1968 is 40% silver. Also I believe 68 may be the last year for silver circulation in Panama.

No problem. Panama did have 1969 silver proof half dollar coins. It does look like 1968 was the last year for 40% silver circulation strikes in Panama. Finding a silver Panama proof would be cool.

I pulled a 67 Panama earlier this year, furcointalk is correct they were minted on 40% Planchents. The Govt of Panama contracted us to make their coinage, I believe it was all minted in Philly too? It was not uncommon in the past for the US to make coins for other countries. It was done in pre-communist Cuba as well, their coins were minted on US planchents.

Thought this was interesting. Sterling and Sons in a a roll today..have about 10 rolls to go through...and I opened this one..and almost near perfect condition rolled 2001 D's haha.
Nothing too great, but its always interesting to find 10 dollars of beautiful looking coins. Will let you guys know what else I find.
EDIT
Decided to see what the other three sterling and sons had...and 65 dollars of 2001 D's Haha. In interesting. Maybe i'll keep one.
Keep on going then?
10 dollars for 2004's. Gee. And another 5 rolls to go.
So total?
out of 140 dollars
10 dollars of 2004's, 65 dollars of 2001's and two 40%s

I picked up what I thought was a nicely purple toned 1964 yesterday from a teller tray, but just as I was congratulating myself on picking it out from a distance I realized it was actually an ugly crud covered 1974. My eagle eye isn't as good as I thought it was!
