Always check the box before you leave the bank. I know it's a pain, but worth it.

Even if you check the box you can still get messed up... Not only am I on a dry spell of no silvers but...

I had a PENNY in place of a 50 cent piece this last box, NO LIE!!

Finding no silvers is one thing, LOSING money (on top of gas) is another lol

I asked for halves today. The teller says "you mean fify cent pieces"? Yeah, lady, like those things in your drawer in wrappers that say "halves".

Where do they get these dingbats?

you would think that to work at a bank you should at least know american coin denominations. to not know what halves are is just silly.

A lot of tellers I see nowadays are younger (my age hehe), and have no idea what I'm talking about when I ask for halves. "Oh you mean those gold dollar coins?"........

I guess halves, too, have lost our use in our times. Seems they should be being used more often since our currency is worth so little!

Whether it is machine error or deliberate I don't know, but the counts come up short more often than not. That crap starts adding up after a while.

Both coin and bill counters can give a short count, for pretty much the same reasons.

Two bills slip through without separating, or two coins stack, or a coin flips out of the tray. Or a coin slips through the meter, which clicks back to the last position instead of advancing. I bought a counter/sorter that had about a roll of cents that had jumped from the counting tray to the innards.

It's almost impossible to count a coin twice, tho.

Nice job Eddie!

But I honestly hope I don't have to do that anytime soon.

------------------------------------------------------------ I recently found, ANOTHER fake rotated die half, this one a 1977-D obverse with the reverse insert positioned at about 75? CCW rotation. The seam at the reverse rim is visible, but just barely.
I wonder who's going to the trouble of making these fakes? They're not fooling anybody!

Actually, it fooled you. What you think is a fake error coin is a genuine magic trick. If you pry out the reverse, on the reverse of it is prolly a Mexican 20 centavos.

The trick is I show you the 20 centavos and the half, put one in each of your hands, and when you hand them back, they're a half and a brass buck.

Some of those are "spy coins" which are hollow and have room to conceal small items like MicroSD cards. You can buy them on the interwebs. I'm still hoping to find one by roll hunting.

Well, an odd coin is what brought me to this site. In a 'junk silver' purchase, I have a 1964 Kennedy on the obverse and a Franklin reverse! I never brought it back, but I have it. It is perfect with no evidence of tampering.

Are you serious? If it's real it would be worth moon money. It's known as a transitional mule.
