Actually, while at the bank getting the halves, I bought a 1976 dollar coin, and when I went to dump, the coin return on the inside of the machine had an Australain 2004 half dollar, I pointed it out, and she gave me that coin, kind of a neat 12 sided coin.

My car broke down 2 weeks ago and I had to put all my money into a new one (2010 Chevy Colbalt LT ). So I took a break from searching for a bit. Finally picked up a box today and was a skunk, at least I got 3 NIFC.

that's rough sd. Same bank? Maybe it's time to change things up a little? May want to try a different branch.

I don't remember who it was (several people I think) they said their success was due to "diligence and consistency". I am being VERY diligent and consistent, hoping for something sometime soon :(

Thanks Murrellington. The worst part is spending money on gas and I can't even come out even with ONE coin, and on top of that, my wife is getting on my case to quit the coin roll hunting because I've been doing it for so many weeks, I'm spending gas money to do this and I am not even breaking even. I can't even give her the "investment" speech because I'm not finding anything lol

ok did 4 Boxes this week and I'm back to the Midwest Misery.
1 40% BUT the best finds were 1 AU 1987D, 1 AU 1982 S, and so many BU 80s coins it was a tragedy to send em back.

Then you find a box with 300 40's and it makes it all worth it. 24 boxes? I can't imagine continuing after that many blanks.

To summarize my findings for the last 3 months I can say this. THE newest recession started 3 or 4 months ago. I started running into 40% halves, then found a Franky, or maybe a Walker, and maybe a couple of 64 Kennedy's. Now, not so good. I noticed searchers in the South East have been hitting it big, quite a few retirees were moving down to that area during the 2000's. If you hang out in banks or credit unions you'll see that during tough times people will bring in buckets of change. I've seen 4 5 gallon buckets each 2/3 full of change just sitting waiting for the staff to run them into the bags. I can't afford today's silver prices even, don't tell me 3-4 hundred for a ten oz. bar is not like, insane. And, believe me silver will probably run through the rest of the year into next, and it's a physical vs. paper thing as well for all of us who have a coin with Ron Paul on it, others are waking up, and fast. I'm doing two boxes a week from now on. Also, I've been testing my source by buying different coins like quarters, dimes, whatever looking for a NAME on the rolls. Loomis is doing the quarters at my main coin resource for instance. My halve boxes have yellow coloring and so are the rolls. Thinking on changing banks real soon, it's the running around, like one previous guy said, I get no support from my wife, but another poster who does get support from his wife finds gobs of silver for some reason.

Wrestling - I once had a 25 box skunk streak where I found a single silver. It is brutal, and my wife also was irritated. I took a break and found a new bank.
Finished my last two boxes. 23 silver - 7 64 Kennedys, 15 40%s and my favorite - a 1920 Walker. It is AG, but you can clearly see to "20". No MM can be made out. Odds are it is a P. Good week, I also found a1907 Indian Head.

I set aside about $1k to do the boxes and roll buying. Doing it that way does not force me to use everyday funds. I understand that not everyone can do that, but if you can, it does make it much easier to do...especially when your significant other is getting irritated with your "hobby". I guestimate that I went through close to $10k in halves before I finally hit my first batch of silver. Being quite new to the coin searching, I was quite ready to call it quits.
