strange cause everytime I get the inspected stamp on the box theres never really anything in them. and the clean boxes with no stamps usually yielded alot more. I know its probably just a coincidence. have to wait till tomorrow for my boxes they never came in oh well ill find something else to do instead ha

My bank was all out of quarters, dimes, and nickels, so I asked what they had for halves (even though I'm on a horrible skunk streak). They said they had a square box (not the typical flats they get) so I said I'd take it. I'll work on it this weekend, wish me all luck, hopefully I can break this record streak (I think I have the worst skunk record for halves, does anyone know if there is a worse one than mine)

Well good luck! Maybe they have been sitting around for a while! Was it $500 like the flat boxes?

Yes one is enough to keep me interested. Kind of like winning an instant rub off lottery ticket! Still waiting for a big find! Most in 1 box was 4 for me. Good luck!

Good luck wrestling, at least it's different than your normal boxes which may be hopeful. Good luck getting a monster box!

2 boxes today.
Box 1 was skimmed and the 2nd box had 2 @ 40%.
Not great but better than nothing.
By the way Chuckster, what's your total tally? You seem to hit silver nearly every time!

so the first time I talked to my bank they said I couldnt buy cases of half dollars, today when I was there I was talking to here and she said she could but only large orders. She said they would bea able to order $5000 dollar orders no less! Technicly I could pull that off but that scares me havint that much money tied up in all that, Should I or shouldnt I, what would you do?

Why would it be tied up? You search, get lucky (or not) and deposit it right back or cash it out for large bills.
You should be able to get through that easily if you are just hunting for silver. My $.02. =)

Last I checked, halves are still money, so what's the problem?

I guess I have been programed to alwas have a certian amount in my main account at ALL times. Maybe monday ill make the order. Well if you have only like 7k in your bank, I wouldn't really use 5k on coins. I am small scale, I search nickels and dimes because I am young, in college, and don't have much money. a few months ago, I called my coin dump bank to see if the coin machine was working and they said yes. So I proceeded to buy 2 boxes of dimes and one of nickels which was $600 total. I only had a little over $600 in my account. But my plan was to search it and then dump so i'd have the money back. After I searched the coins I went to dump them and the coin machine was in fact broken. It's the only one near me as well. So I figured I would dump monday (it was saturday). Sunday my wife filled the car with gas not knowing how muhc money we had. Then later we went to the grocery to get food and the card was declined, we didn't have enough money in the bank, it was all in coins at my house. It was embarrassing, and I guess the moral of the story is that you never know when you will need cash. If you have $5000 in coins and your coin machines dont work, and all of a sudden there is an emergency where you need quick cash, it will be difficult to use all coins. If 5k is comfortable for you to not need asap at any time, go for it! however if it may be a problem if you can't access that money quickly, then i'd think twice about spending that much on coins. I'm just paranoid now and try to keep enough in the bank. do as you wish though.
