Thanks for the advice about my 1971 d Kennedy. I tried the tissue test and it looks silver. Also, it weighs 11.4 grams (according to my scale). Is there any place that I can bring it to do a specific gravity test?

Someone was able to id that foreign coin for me. It's a 1 Rupee minted somewhere between their calendar of 1330-1343. It is .818 Silver.

Mountainman - that is a silver rupee from the Princely States of Hyderabad. The year is below the building and written in Arabic. The coin is actually from India while it was under British rule. As you probably know, it is also silver.

I read some earlier posts re: bicentennials. would the "s" mark be in the same place as the "p" & "d"'s?
I borrowed a small digital scale, I guess I'll be spending some quality time w/it. LOL

Stopped at two local banks today since my boxes have been skunkers and picked up 36 rolls of halves.

Total take for $360 in CWR was 1-Franklin, 4-64K's, and 13 40%ers

9 of the 40%ers were in one roll and 4 of the 90's were in another.

Nice haul today
Rest in Peace

Congrats, Bman. Never found any rolls of halves at bank.

I find loose halves, every once in a while.

Checked today during lunch break at work at TD bank, and I saw some silver in the tray and about 8 or 9 Ikes. Calmly bought it all, and here's what I got:

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

All bicentennial Ikes, with 1 '77 d; and a 1968 d and '69 d 40%'ers.

Cool! It's about the 6th time I asked them at this branch, first time I got silver from them.

bernie, I know what you're talking about with never getting any rolls at banks. I've been asking for almost a year at many many banks in different states and have never gotten more than 3 loose halves at best.
